TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Do you want to travel? Why not teach
English abroad as thousands of young Americans have done? In many
parts of the world, the opportunities for trained ESL teachers abound.
You can learn to teach abroad and earn a TEFL certificate at Action
in English, in our full- or part-time teacher training course in
Boston.
Located in Boston's elegant Back Bay neighborhood, Action in English
is a subsidiary of the Olin Center, accredited by the American Council
of Continuing Education (ACCET). We offer full- and part-time courses
designed to enable those without formal ESL teaching experience
or training to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) and English
as a Foreign Language (EFL) in as few as four weeks. In that time
we teach you the theory and basics of teaching English and direct
you to your first teaching job overseas: We show you where the jobs
are how to get them.
Learn to teach overseas--in Boston!
"Our TEFL instructors were of
the highest caliber. The course taught me so much in four weeks
that it is difficult to believe. Among other things, I gained invaluable
experience in isolating my objectives, putting together and teaching
from a lesson plan.
The course also showed me some valuable tools for finding a good
job. An outstanding value."
Mary Pope, interest
group leader, Harvard Neighbors, Harvard University
"I received a lot of feedback and rules
on teaching methods and resources. I appreciated the amount of effort
that went into the process."
Riley Hanick, Iowa
City, Iowa
"The teachers were very good,
with a lot of knowledge and experience. The teaching practice was
helpful."
Hye Jin Lee, Pusan University, Korea
